Academic Statement

I love to dig deep into the nexus between our society, culture, business and ethics.  I work to develop analysis "toolkits" and processes that students can take with them after their studies are complete to serve as a resource for challenges they will face in their daily lives.  With a focus on current events, social media and interactive exercises, students can engage to their fullest with the course materials and instructor.  I expect inquiry, diligence and effort in my courses, and I highly encourage (respectful) dialogue on both sides of any issue.  This training and discipline is essential.  I use team projects to foster learning, and while they may be challenging, are an essential component to consensus and community building.  This provides and fosters inclusivity, and I make myself available as a mediator if need be, but I like students to constructively work together.  Finally, I believe that mentorship is essential in the business world, as well as in graduate education, because of the importances of instilling transparent and ethical values in the next generation of leaders to help resolve our most pressing planetary concerns.  As educators and global citizens, we must lead by example.
